Despite of its scandalous name, puttanesca is a wonderful dish that bursts with so much taste and flavor. It is great meal that you can eat and serve for lunch, snack or dinner.

Here is a quick yet delectable puttanesca sauce recipe that you can whip in your won kitchen:

Ingredients
For this recipe, you will need the following:

  • 1 tablespoons of extra virgin oil
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1/3 cup of chopped parsley
  • ¼ cup of pitted Greek olives
  • 1 tablespoons of capers
  • 1 tablespoon of anchovy paste
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh oregano lives
  • 1 tablespoon of dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • ¾ cup of chopped arugula
  • ¼ cup of grated parmesan cheese

Directions:
In a large pan, sauté together the garlic, parsley, oregano, capers, olives, anchovy paste, and red pepper. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly for about one minute.

Next, add in the tomatoes. Allow the tomatoes to cook for about five minutes.

Add in the arugula, and let it simmer for another minute or until the leaves are wilted.

You can add the puttanesca sauce over vermicelli pasta or as a sauce for your green salad.
